The story
Each breed by what it was bred for.
Dogs by miniblank is 57 breeds, each as the old books of the dog show it: the dog itself, its name, what it was bred for and the country it comes from. The saluki was bred to course gazelle, the dachshund to go to ground, the collie to herd sheep.

The saluki first.
The saluki is a sighthound of Arabia, bred to course gazelle over open ground. It comes first here, and its card is after a drawing by Edwin Landseer, 1813.
Two marks.
On a tee, a hoodie or a crewneck: the silhouette embroidered small in the centre of the chest, in brass or white thread to suit the colour, and the card printed big on the back, in lead or bone ink. On a cap or a tote: the silhouette embroidered on the front.

Where the pictures come from.
Most of the dogs come from The New Book of the Dog by Robert Leighton (London, 1907) and Dogs of All Nations by Walter Esplin Mason (1915), which both showed each breed by a real dog photographed for the page. The pointer is from The Dog Book by James Watson (1905), the saluki from a drawing by Edwin Landseer, the Dalmatian from a study by Betty Fuerst, and a few from other public-domain photographs and engravings. We trace each dog from its picture in one line, and invent none.
